Stop Organizing Clutter: Declutter First, Organize Second
Storage can hide a decision, but it cannot make the decision disappear. A better organizer only makes unused things look more deliberate.

Choose one small, visible area
Start with one drawer, desktop or bedside surface. Finishing a contained area gives you a working rule for the next one and avoids a room-wide sorting project.
Ask what the object does now
Keep it if it is used, genuinely loved or required. A past price is not a current purpose. For duplicates, keep the quantity needed for real life rather than an imagined emergency.
Move outgoing items all the way out
Give donate, recycle and repair piles clear destinations and deadlines. Bags left in a hallway are only relocated clutter. Follow local disposal guidance for electronics and batteries.
Organize for retrieval and return
Give remaining objects homes near where they are used. Frequently used things should be easy to reach. Leave capacity so returning one item does not require rearranging everything else.
